The overdrive-2 is the final version of my Lo-Fi Overdrive. This pedal splits your audio signal and sends one half through two high-gain Sziklai-pair stages, and the other half through a clean boost, then gives you a blend control to sweep between them using the Clarity knob. Both halves of this circuit use NOS soviet germanium transistors – MП37 and MП41. The output of the blend circuit goes through a TL072-based buffer and then through a Proco Rat-style filter, labelled Tone. Another TL072 is used as a tone recovery amplifier before passing through a Volume control and the output jack.
This pedal keeps the original intention of the Lo-Fi Overdrive, with more refinements. This is a treble-voiced circuit, and would sound great in applications where you might not want a ton of bass frequencies to pass through, however I have had reports of this pedal working very well with bass guitars.
